Pressure Ulcers

Pressure ulcers, also known as bedsores, are localized injuries to the skin and underlying tissue caused by prolonged pressure, friction, or shear, often over bony areas like the hips, heels, or tailbone. They range in severity from mild redness (Stage 1) to deep wounds exposing muscle or bone (Stage 4). Pressure ulcers are preventable and treatable through regular repositioning, proper skincare, and advanced wound care interventions.
