PURPOSE OF USE
WOUNDOMETER, when properly used, offers accuracy and consistency in wound measurement. This is critical in determining treatment and in evaluating the healing process and wound deterioration. Secondly, WOUNDOMETER is inexpensive and easy to use, even where wounds are irregular in shape and cover uneven body surface. WOUNDOMETER use results in little or no discomfort to the patient. Lastly, WOUNDOMETER provides a basis of evidence of wound size when pictured in place by a time-stamped camera.
WOUNDOMETER is indicated for use in measuring wounds to the body surface resulting in a puncture, cut, scrape, or tear. It is also indicated for use in measuring wounds resulting from pressure ulcers or from dehiscence following surgical suturing.
The use of this device is contraindicated for use in measuring burns, rash, or other abrasions not resulting in a puncture, cut, scrape, or a tear. Also, this device is contraindicated for use in measuring surgical incisions other than those experienced in dehiscence.
